Q. How does your Stalingrad: Verdun on the Volga differ from Avalon Hill's Turning Point: Stalingrad?
A. There are quite a few differences. Turns represent four days of historical time versus one for TP:S. The unit scale is roughly regimental, with some battalion sized formations, versus battalion with some company sized formations. There are only three units types in our game—infantry, armor, pioneer—versus many unit types in TP:S. Our game also has a very different and more accurate modeling of German combat attrition, based on most recent publications utilizing post-Cold War Soviet sources (primarily Glantz).
Q. What's your phone number? I want to talk to you.
A. You can call us at (610) 754-0101 Monday through Friday, from 10 AM to 5 PM EST. Our rep, Ed, will service your call, or if you get the answering machine, you can leave a detailed message on it. If you would like to leave an order, clearly state your VISA or Mastercard number, the expiration date of the card, the CVV code from the back, your name (as spelled on the card) and your card's billing address, your shipping address (if different), and what kind of item you'd like. Be sure to leave an e-mail address we can send a credit card e-confirmation to, or a callback number in case there's a problem.
Q. Is your new shopping cart ordering system secure?
A. Absolutely! Not only do we use all encrypted pages to gather the data for your order, but we never store your credit card information at our site. It is passed off to one of the payment processors directly (Authorize.Net or PayPal). Look for the "lock" symbol in your browser on the credit card order form screens. No one can see or capture your private credit card details. Plus, you'll receive an e-mail confirmation from us within two business days that your order has been received and successfully charged. Purchase securely with confidence from LSG!
Q. Help! I've tried to access my account, view the cart and the checkout page on your site. The reply I receive is my browser cannot connect to your secure web pages.
A. This looks like a security incompatibility problem. There are several versions of SSL and TLS web browser security. We only support the newer web browser versions of encryption that aren't cracked yet (to our knowledge); so when using a browser with settings that are trying to negotiate a cracked version of encryption, then our systems will do you a favor by not allowing a connection. The LSG server only supports TLS 1.2, the current common protocol. The older protocols, SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, and TLS 1.0 and 1.1, are no longer acceptable to the credit card companies and most financial institutions, and are also vulnerable to known attacks. You can see some more details, including how to change your browser to use the newer versions of encryption, by reading this PDF document. Once you are using the newer encryption, you should be able to get through and make your order. Note that some older browsers and operating systems can't use the newer encryption; you'll need to upgrade to ones that do. The entire financial industry is migrating off those older encryption schemes because they just aren't safe any longer.
